Consolidate debts with Nationwide

Nationwide has today announced the re-launch of its personal loan 'switch' offer, giving people the opportunity to consolidate their debts before Christmas.

Under the terms of the loan, customers who switch their personal loan to Nationwide from a number of other lenders will receive its 'best rate' of 6.7 per cent and also receive a £50 cheque.

The society is asking consumers to get a quote with Nationwide, to see what they might save on monthly repayments by changing loans.

Steve Clode, marketing director of Nationwide, said: 'Unlike credit cards and current accounts, personal loan customers tend to remain with one provider for the life of the loan, which often means they are losing hundreds of pounds through paying higher rates than they need to.'

Loans are available for any amount between £1,000 and £25,000 and the deal will end on December 31 2005.
