A&L launches premiere savings account
Alliance & Leicester has launched a new savings account that it claims makes three 'premier promises'.
The Premier Switching Service offers customers three main services: firstly that there will be no overdraft charges or fees, secondly there will be a minimum overdraft of £250 for all customers and lastly that it will match the value of existing overdrafts.
It claims that the launch is a result of the 'poor deals' offered by other banks and hopes it will encourage consumers to change accounts.
According to the bank's research, 27 per cent of customers said they would switch banks if their new provider would match their existing overdraft.
Simon Ripton, current accounts manager at Alliance & Leicester said: 'Customers can switch with confidence in the knowledge that we will match their existing overdraft.
'Even if a customer's bills exceed their overdraft, they can be assured that they will not incur additional charges or fees.'
He added that it was easy to change accounts, all customers have to do is fill in two forms and Alliance & Leicester would sort out the rest, including direct debits and standing orders. |
