A music hobby with a £21k price tag
Having a passion for music can cost someone up to £21,000 over a lifetime, says a new report.
Buying CD's, music magazines, stereos and tickets to music gigs can clock up the five-digit figure, reveals Prudential.
For people who are at the cutting edge of music, keeping up with the latest bands and buying the most expensive speakers can cost them well over £40,000.
Prudential says that it is important for Brits to carefully manage their finances so that they can enjoy life's luxuries and follow their interests.
'It's crucial that people plan their finances to enjoy a secure future. A good financial plan should also take into account the 'extra' things - like music and entertainment - so you are not taken by surprise at the end of each month,' said Roger Ramsden, Prudential's director of PruLab and marketing.
In a typical year, an average Brit will spend around £200 on CD's and the same amount on gigs, while the average music fanatic admits to a CD bill of £549. |
