Amex launches new credit card
American Express has teamed up with the Nectar brand to launch a new credit card that enables customers to earn extra points when they use it.
The Nectar card will allow Brits to earn points' more quickly and reap rewards faster than ever before'.
Customers will earn double points when they pay with the new card and also hand over their existing nectar reward card.
American Express claims that the card gives holders the equivalent of two per cent off their shopping at Sainsbury's, Argos and Debenhams, as well as giving the chance to earn other rewards such as flights and cinema tickets in half the time.
Holders of the new Amex Nectar card will earn four points for every £1 spent in Nectar retailers, and one point in non-Nectar retailers.
The card has a 12.9 per cent APR, 5.9 per cent balance transfer rate for the life of the balance, 56 days interest-free period and insurance benefits including purchase protection, refund protection and online fraud guarantee.
Richard Mason, moneysupermarket.com director warned consumers that while the card might seem attractive, it is important that cardholders look for a card that charges 'as little interest as possible'. |
