Women worry more about debts
The stereotype about women worrying more than men has been confirmed by new research that reveals the female sex worries more about debt.
One in three women is anxious about their current debts, says CreditExpert.co.uk, compared to only one in eight men.
However, while women fret the most, it seems that few are preparing for their futures, something that men seem to be taking care of.
Three-quarters of men have pension plans in place, but only half the woman have prepared for their retirements in the same way.
'Men and women are fairly evenly matched in terms of their financial know-how, but understanding what affects your credit score is paramount to securing your financial future,' commented Jim Hodgkins, managing director of CreditExpert.
The company says that 95 per cent of people do not totally understand the concept of credit scoring, and that one in four does not realise that late payments affect your credit score.
The experts advise that being better advised of how credit scoring works will enable people to make better financial decisions. |
