Four million do not have life insurance
Up to four million parents are risking leaving their loved ones in a financial pickle by not having life insurance, a report claims.
The cost of raising a child is consistently underestimated, according to figures and in refusing life insurance, parents expose their families to potential financial hardship.
Pregnancy and Birth magazine calculated that the cost of raising a child to the age of five is over £52,000 and if it ever came to it, this burden can be shared by insurerers.Life insurance does not have to be expensive, and costs from just £5 per week, claims Sainsbury's.
David Pickett, Sainsbury's Bank life insurance manager said:"Life insurance can provide great peace of mind in the knowledge that your dependents would receive a cash lump sum if you were to die.
"Once you know what your requirements are, there's nothing to stop you shopping around on the cost to make sure you're not paying too much for your peace of mind," he added. |
