NS&I says go to the supermarket to find out about finance
National Savings & Investments (NS&I) has announced that consumers looking for financial products should search for them at their local supermarket.
It claims that the days when the only place to look for financial products was at the bank are long gone, and has cited supermarkets as a good alternative site to search for finance.
The government-backed savings provider says that the supermarket is a good place to market products, as it means that when people go shopping they can pick up useful information at the same time.
John Akerman from NS&I commented: 'There is a bid on the part of financial providers to seek new channels and make themselves available to more customers.
'Over the past five years there has been a convergence between supermarket retailers and financial providers. This is likely to continue in the future.'
A recent example of this convergence was NS&I's own collaboration with Tesco earlier this month, in a bid to use the supermarket chain's stores in driving up financial awareness. |
