Su Doku trumps finance as priority for Brits
Britons are increasingly shying away from doing their essential household sums, a new report reveals.
A survey by Scottish Widows found that alternative distractions such as television, the internet and even games of Su Doku rank as higher priorities than working out the budget in the life of the average consumer.
Most people hope to reduce the time spent on money matters to 20 minutes per week, an amount that did not vary regardless of the financial products being studied.
'It's widely known that, as a nation, we aren't as prepared for our futures as we could be, but the findings of the Preparation Nation report emphasise just how trivial we consider the issue to be,' warned Paula Sutherland, Scottish Widows consumer affairs spokeswoman.
She urged consumers: 'Just by checking your finances on a weekly basis to make sure your money is working hardest for you and reviewing the bigger areas of your finances on a regular basis is a step in the right direction.'
With use of the internet ranking as one of the highest priorities for Brits, consumers should be aware that they can look online to find the clearest information on a wide range of financial products. |
