Look to experts not the stars for essential money matters
Brits are endangering their financial health by failing to take professional advice on crucial money matters, surveys have found.
Rather than seeking out expert guidance, research from Alliance & Leicester finds that more than two people in three (71 per cent) chat instead to their partners, friends and family or just do not look for any advice at all.
Astonishingly, a new study by CreditExpert.co.uk reveals that one person in eight (12 per cent) has based financial decisions on reading their horoscope, twice as many as go to see their bank manager.
But this approach can lead to far too many people missing out on the best deals.
'While many things in life are down to luck, important financial decisions should be based on fact and keeping yourself up-to-date with your current financial status is a crucial element of this' said Jim Hodgkins, managing director of CreditExpert.
Customers should look online to stay aware of the best buys in mortgage, credit and insurance packages. |
