Brits urged to get cancer cover
People across the UK are leaving themselves at risk of financial hardship by not preparing themselves for the possibility that cancer may stop them from receiving their monthly income.
The news comes despite the fact that 94 per cent of Britons believe that 'anyone could get cancer, irrespective of lifestyle' and the Institute of Cancer Research says that one in six of us will get cancer before the age of 70.
Sir Richard Branson, chairman of Virgin Money who carried out the research, said: 'There are too many people who are not protecting themselves financially against cancer often because of the prohibitive costs of traditional cover.'
Now Virgin Money has launched its Big V Cancer Cover, which is 'the first insurance of its kind' that is dedicated to protecting people against the financial impacts that contracting cancer could have on their life.
Furthermore, with one in six people across the UK expected to get cancer before the age of 70, insurance cover to protect against any financial problems that may occur as a result could be essential.
Sir Branson concluded by saying: 'Fighting cancer is hard enough without having to worry about money.' |
