Customers prefer jeans to current accounts
Brits are more interested in finding a pair of well-fitting jeans than caring about their bank accounts, reveals a new report and people spend more time perusing for the ultimate in denim than finding an account with the best rate.
Which?, the consumer body, says that nearly half of consumer spend between one and three hours choosing jeans, and a fewer number of people spend the same amount of time looking for a current account.
The news comes as Halifax estimates that ten million Brits could benefit by changing their financial provider, and figures claim people are also missing out on up to four per cent in interest.
Alliance and Leicester suggest that half of all Brits hold a bank account that has not improved on the service or financial rewards it offers customers in the last month.
For example, Nationwide provides an account doesn’t charge people for making cash withdrawals overseas, perfect for travellers or regular holidaymakers, while Alliance and Leicester offers free travel insurance.
With more and more specialist accounts out there, the report advises consumers to shop around for the perfect one. |
