Men more likely to get online loan than women
Men are more than 50 percent more likely than women to apply for a loan using the internet, Halifax figures show.
The research also suggests that singles are more likely to shop online than people who are married, with 46 per cent of applications coming from those without a partner.
Londoners revealed themselves to be the most internet-savvy, accounting for 23 per cent of total online applications. Scots used the internet for personal banking the least, with only six per cent of applications coming from Scotland.
Max Vialou-Clark, head of business development at Halifax unsecured personal loans, commented: "The number of online applications has more than doubled in the last three years and shows no signs of slowing.
"However, the gap between the number of men and women applying online shows no signs of narrowing and has remained constant for the last few years," he added.
According to NOP Financial World research, in 2004 13.5 million used some sort of online financial service. |
